THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY

The textile industry is a diverse, heterogeneous sector, comprising the complete chain of production, from the transformation of the fibers to the final product as it is purchased by the consumer; including clothing, home and industrial textiles.

Traditionally, textile production happened mostly in Europe and North America, but the situation has changed in the last years: most textiles are currently produced in Asia, especially in China and India. USA, Europe &Asia has a long tradition in the production of textiles. This know-how is also used by foreign world brands, which had returned or example to Spain& UK for some years to manufacture a big portion of their products. The trend of producing apparel only in Asia is reverting to producing in Europe.

Producing is also important for the fashion industry, and this is old common sense, to be as close as possible to the demand in order to respond rapidly to any change. Textile industry began to recover exports

Affected by the global economic crisis, the European textile and garment industry has been devastated, and many well-known companies are successive bankruptcies. According to the Textile Industry Associations, in addition to production, the number of business investment also experienced a decline after several years of growth, which is one of the signs of the textile market rebound.
